JOHN LEVAN
In 1985, John LeVan studied under many repairmen and Luthiers in Ohio to learn his trade. He opened his own guitar repair business in Auburn, California in 1990. In 1993 John studied with Bob Taylor at the Taylor Guitar Factory and became their first authorized service center. He then relocated to Music Row in Nashville Tennessee in 1997. After two decades in Nashville, he built a brand-new shop in Chapel Hill, Tennessee to accommodate his hands-on guitar repair training school for players, technicians, retail employees. A Mel Bay Author, John LeVan has composed five guitar repair books. His best seller: Guitar Care, Setup & Maintenance, is a hands-on guitar care and repair guide with a forward by Bob Taylor. From 2009 to 2013 John worked as a contributor for the Gearhead Gazette, authoring his column titled "Tips and Tone". For many years John wrote a monthly column in Premier Guitar Magazine "Guitar Shop 101".
