TERRENCE MCGILL
Terry McGill grew up in Closter, New Jersey, and has heard bluegrass music as far back as he can remember. By the time he was a teenager, He started picking the banjo. He played in his first bluegrass band when he was in high school. While attending Fairleigh Dickinson University in the late 1980s, Terry hosted The Country and BluegrassRound-Up, a radio show featuring vintage country and bluegrass music. Terry has played in many bluegrass bands through the years, most recently with his band, Straight Drive. In 2001, he released his first recording entitled, Straight Drive, featuring several original instrumentals and vocals. In January 2003, Terry was featured in the national publication The Banjo Newsletter. He has appeared at many bluegrass festivals and events including Carnegie Hall and Central Park in New York City, Ralph Stanley's Hills of Home Festival in McClure, Va., The High Mountain Hayfever Festival in Westcliffe, Colo. and The International Bluegrass Music Association's Convention in Nashville, TN. Terry currently resides in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.
