WILLIAM STEVENS
William Stevens is a composer and musician from North Carolina who has a wide range of talents and interests. As a classical musician he has composed operas, film scores, works for symphony orchestras, choral music, and liturgical music for the Lutheran church. But since he was raised in the mountains of N.C., he has also had a life-long love for the folk music of the Appalachians and the British Isles. Bill played fiddle and hammered dulcimer in an Ohio old-time band called the North Fork Rounders, viola and synthesizer in an Irish band called The Maltworms, and guitar in The Tune Mammals, a family quintet specializing in his original off-the-wall children's songs. His arrangements for guitar are eminently approachable, and yet offer great opportunity for personal expression.
