The Ukrainian composer Olexandr Moyerer has dedicated the compositions in his second book, “Tango Diary“, completely to Tango. With 16 pieces, each one-page long, he captures the sensitivities of life and portrays the multi-facetted emotions of tango. The titles include “Declaration of Love“, “In A Bad Mood“, “The Quarrel“, “The Funny Female Driver“ and “The Memory“.
Despite his compositions consistently using 4/4 time, the author succeeds in creating a real tango feeling in no time at all: sometimes snappy, moody, sleazy, but also romantic, sensual or simply funny. To create this mood, the composer chooses different playing techniques so that the young pianist is faced with different demands in every piece and can work on these in detail. Because of the relatively low difficulty level, this playing material can also be used in lessons with beginners and allows the teacher to design their lessons in a diverse way.
The tangos are recorded on the CD and speak a clear musical language, making explanatory remarks unnecessary.
