Kirk HanserKirk Hanser has been called "...a superb guitarist...(possessing) an authentic musical personality" (Erik Eriksson, D.C. Advocate). Kirk received his Bachelor of Music from Millikin University, and his Master of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory. As a soloist and ensemble member, he has performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan.Kirk has lived in the St. Louis area since 1996 along with his wife, Laura, and their three children. In St. Louis, he teaches for several colleges and universities, arranges music for events and publications, and acts as director for the Childbloom Guitar Program and the St. Louis Academy for Guitar. As such, Kirk has been recognized with several awards including Childbloom's Outstanding Program of the Year and National Teacher of the Year. Kirk has been half of the internationally acclaimed Hanser-McClellan Guitar Duo (ensemble in residence for Webster University, Webster Groves, MO) since 1996. Their latest compact disc release, "Jongo - South American Music for Two Guitars", was touted as "an absolute winner in every way" (St. Louis Post-Dispatch) and "full of color and a real surprise throughout" (Classical Guitar Magazine - UK).
