Steve Marsh

Steve Marsh (b. 1949) studied guitar in the mid-1970's with the late Robin Pearson at the Spanish Guitar Centre, Nottingham, England. In his performing career, he has given numerous concerts as a soloist and also in various duo partnerships. In 1984 he was invited to join the reviewing team of Classical Guitar Magazine and since then has reviewed hundreds of new publications, recordings, and recitals as well as contributing articles. He has written well over 200 pieces for the guitar including solos, duets, trios, quartets and sextets. His compositions have been performed by some of the leading names in the world of classical guitar including Arne Brattland, the Hill/Wiltchinsky duo, Eleftheria Kotzia, the Eastwood/Kilvington duo, and the Montes/Kircher duo who recorded Marsh's Homage to Paco de Lucia on their 1984 CD release. In late 2000, Steve Marsh played the incidental guitar music on the best-selling author and award-winning playwright Deric Longden's CD The Funny Thing Is.... Currently Steve Marsh is one half of two duos, one with Larraine Eastwood and the other with Gary Spolding.
