Susan Peters was born and reared in San Francisco, where at an early age she began her musical studies, which included ballet and ten years of piano study. She studied harp with Anne Adams, first harpist with the San Francisco Symphony and Opera, and later with Marisa Robles at the Royal College of Music in London, England. Susan also studied with Solange Renie and Mildred Dilling in Paris, and with Verlye Mills. Susan received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where she studied psychology and music.
Her experience includes having performed with the San Francisco Symphony and Edmonton Symphony in Alberta, Canada. She was staff harpist at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Clift Hotel in San Francisco and later spent several years in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe performing with major celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Orlando, and Loretta Lynn, to name only a few. She has done numerous jingles including those of General Motors, National Airlines, Eastern Airlines, Coca Cola, and Burger King, among others. She has also been featured with magician Harry Blackstone in the Tropicana's Holiday Spectacular in Atlantic City. In 1994 Susan was selected to perform on television her arrangement of "The Star Spangled Banner" for the world-champion Lakers basketball team. She received a two-minute ovation from the audience as well as a tremendous accolade from the TV commentators.
In June 1993, Ms. Peters had the honor of performing the theme "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" on the CBS This Morning television show. In November of that year, 1993, Susan was selected for the cover and feature story of the popular Arizona Woman magazine.
Although she is an accomplished harpist in both classical and jazz music, Susan also took time out to broaden her scope with the study of business at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she received her Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Her hobbies include aviation, in which she holds a commercial instrument-rated pilot's certificate.
