Kathryn ScheldtKathryn Scheldt received her M.M. in Guitar Performance from Winthrop University and her B.A. from the University of South Carolina. Additional guitar study includes work with Aaron Shearer at the North Carolina School of the Arts and with David Russell as an Emerging Artist Grant recipient for private study. An active vocalist, Ms. Scheldt trains with La Verne Roberts. From 1990-1997 Ms. Scheldt was Guitar Instructor at Wingate University, Wingate, N.C. and Queens College, Charlotte, N.C. From 1997-2000 Ms. Scheldt resided in Italy where she studied Neapolitan songs and Italian music, language and culture. Currently, she resides in New York where she continues to perform, teach, arrange, song write and act as consultant to the International Program at Queens College. Ms. Scheldt is also a Guild Certified Instructor of the Feldenkrais Method, an educational approach for improving performance. |
