El McMeen Has a Hit with Breakout
by El McMeen
I'm delighted to report that my new CD Breakout is among the top 20 CD's played by Folk DJ's in the month of August, 2002. (See below.) I greatly appreciate the enthusiasm for this CD, which was a major effort for me.

20: "Breakout," El McMeen [Piney Ridge Music]
This recording is named for my tune "Breakout," but also, by its title, represents my breaking out into some new directions of music. In addition to the melodic pieces of the type I've always played and appreciated, this disc contains my rendititions of three new compositions, and some up-tempo dance tunes, and even a "Motown" medley. The unifying factor, I hope, is my affection for the music, and my attempt to honor the music with my voice on the instrument.
