Mark Cosgrove and Liz Meyer Announce Tour Schedule

Note: The text of this article is taken directly from an e-mail announcement sent by Liz Meyer and Mark Cosgrove.

Dear Friends,

Time for another big tour! This one is bigger and longer than usual, beginning in East Germany and ending in Washington, D.C. Sorry to be sending this a bit late. We had to wait for missing information on some of the concerts.

As we told you in the springtime, Liz Meyer & Mark Cosgrove have been recording a new CD in Nashville. The last session will take place in early December, and we hope to see the album released in January. The album is called "THE STORM" and features all original songs. We've added one or two people to the lineup since spring:

Vocals: LIZ MEYER, MARK COSGROVE, EMMYLOU HARRIS
Dobro: JERRY DOUGLAS, ROB ICKES
Mandolin: SAM BUSH, MARK COSGROVE
Fiddle: GLEN DUNCAN, STUART DUNCAN, SAM BUSH, SHAD COBB
Banjo: BELA FLECK, RON BLOCK
Bass: BYRON HOUSE
Clawhammer Banjo: MARK JOHNSON
Drums: KENNY MALONE, CHRIS BROWN
Guitar: MARK COSGROVE, LIZ MEYER

OTHER NEWS FROM RECENT MONTHS:

** OUR WEBSITE: It's STILL not finished, but we're making some progress at last, and should have it updated at Christmas. One of the biggest problems recently has been that we cannot access the calendar maintenance page to keep our tour schedule updated! (Please alway call the hall before driving to a show.) But you can hear complete tracks from all our CDs, and read some press reviews or look at our calendar for the rest of the year. But come visit us at www.ibluegrass.com/lizmeyer

** Liz has produced several new CDs for Strictly Country Records in Holland this past year. The first is the EUROPEAN WORLD OF BLUEGRASS 2002, featuring live performances by terrific bluegrass bands from all over Europe, as well as appearances by U.S. artists Sally Jones & the Sidewinders, Hickory Project, and Linda Thomas & Dan DeLancey. On EWOB 2002, Liz performs one of her songs, "Trying Not To Think," with one of Europe's finest bluegrass bands, Nugget, from Austria. (#1 European Bluegrass Band 1999, #2 Euro Bluegrass Band 2002).

** The latest is Nashville songwriter PAUL CRAFT's CD "Raised By The Railroad Line." This is an album of 30-year old recordings, mostly backed by John Hartford's original Steam Powered Aero-Plane lp: Norman Blake, Vassar Clements, Tut Taylor, John Hartford, and even has Don Williams doing some backup vocals, as well as appearances by Ben Eldridge and Mike Auldridge, from the original Seldom Scene.

** Liz also co-produced the new BOB PAISLEY AND THE SOUTHERN GRASS album, "Forty Years of Trouble," as well as the new live CD by DAVID OLNEY, "Women Across the River."

** Mark has just released his new flatpicking guitar instruction book/CD set for Mel Bay Publications. His first Mel Bay guitar book, Good Medicine, is now out of print. The material can be found in his new book, HOT SOLOS FOR FLATPICKING GUITAR, which also includes 2 new transcriptions.

** For info on MARK COSGROVE FLATPICK GUITAR WORKSHOPS, please send an email to mark@lizmeyer.com. This is a unique opportunity to learn from a U.S. National Flatpicking Guitar Champion and Doc Watson's Merlefest Flatpicking Champion, who also happens to be a wonderful teacher.

Okay, look out, here comes the TOUR PLAN! Please come and see us, or send some friends if you can't be there yourself. Hope to see you down the road!

Warm regards,
Liz Meyer & Mark Cosgrove
