Mel Bay's new In the Pocket series presents three titles by Corey Christiansen for the intermediate to advanced jazz guitarist: Basic Jazz Rhythm Guitar: Comping in the Freddie Green Style; Playing in the Groove; and Quartal Harmony: Modern Jazz Comping & Voicings. The titles include a DVD video running from 45 minutes to over an hour neatly packaged inside a book-size (8.75" x 11.75") chart. The DVDs not only present teaching material, but also provide a play-along experience that will allow students to hear how to apply the material. The charts provide essential supplemental information in an easy-to-read format.
