At full tilt, Reed's fingers, thumbs, fists and hands at once suggest a drummer, keyboardist, bassist and several guitarists at work. It's a dizzying, exhilarating phenomenon. A portrait of the acoustic guitar as full-on heavy metal band.Concert 8:00 PM - Tickets - $12 in advance and $15.00 at the door. September 27: "Blues on Broadway" featuring Liz Melendez Band and Ghost Mountain Rhythm & Blues - The Liz Melendez Band from Atlanta and Ghost Mountain Rhythm & Blues from Asheville are rising stars of the Southeastern blues scene. Touring further and further from their respective home bases, both bands have created ever-widening circles of fan support which have spread into East Tennessee, overlapping in Knoxville. In the past year, each has played to enthusiastic audiences at Knoxville Museum of Art's "Alive After Five" and become popular favorites at Sassy Ann's, Knoxville's only exclusively Blues club. Last June, Liz Melendez headlined the Bessie Smith Strut, which is the biggest night of Chattanooga's 9-day long Riverbend Festival. Ghost Mountain performed at the Knoxville Brewer's Jam last year and recorded a live CD at The Down Home Pickin' Parlor in Johnson City. And now, for the first time, on Friday, September 27, the two bands will appear together, on a double bill at The Palace Theater in MaryvillConcert 8:00 PM - Tickets - $12 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
