A Review of Mel Bay's Exhibit at NAMM

Mel Bay displayed several new products at the recent NAMM convention, an industry trade show held July 19-21 in Nashville. These included the Getting Into... series, Backup Trax: Basic Blues for Guitar, West Coast Blues Guitar Play-Along Trax, and three new titles from Voggenreiter Publishers of Germany: 1000 Keyboard Tips, Open Tunings: Chords, Tuning Charts and Scales, and Elementary Music Theory for Beginners and Advanced. We also featured the titles being produced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Music (see related story).

Several Mel Bay authors also attended the convention and helped to promote their books: Tommy Flint, Julianna Waller, Martin Norgaard, Paul Reuter, Lonnie Joe Howell, Paul Yandell, Dona Gilliam, and Mizzy McCaskill.

NAMM, the International Music Products Assocation, represents more than 7,700 retailers and manufacturers of musical instruments and products from 85 countries worldwide. Attendance at NAMM trade shows is restricted to companies who make, buy, and/or sell musical instruments and products. NAMM's trade shows are all about checking out the latest gear, networking with other music products professionals, attending free business-boosting classes, cool exhibits, and a sizzling hot nightlife. For more information on NAMM's Summer Session 2002, visit their web site at www.namm.com.
