The initial three titles out of a planned five collaborations between Mel Bay Publications, Inc. and Warner Brothers Publications have now been released. They are Jazz Guitar Standards: A Complete Approach to Playing Tunes; Jazz Goes Classic: Jazz Favorites for Classic Guitar; and Guitar Tabsongs: Classic Rock. The remaining two titles are scheduled for release next month.

The collaboration between Mel Bay and Warner Brothers represents a significant addition to Mel Bay's catalog with the inclusion of many copyrighted tunes, such as pop, rock, and jazz standards. Some of Mel Bay's finest arrangers were used on these projects, which ranged from classical arrangements of timeless jazz standards to arrangements of rock classics for fingerstyle guitar.

Jazz Guitar Standards is the first book to present tunes in four different formats: lead sheet, chord solo, comping, and single-line solo. It covers all of the necessary elements in playing a jazz standard.
