They begin with small intervals in the form of long tones which help to teach clarity of tone and build up endurance. The Caprioles allow the soloistic originality of the individual players to develop while at the same time training precise ensemble playing in the form of canons. Marches with a bass solo or trio demand a bit more endurance. Three recital pieces for three trumpets solo extend the purity of tone taught in the duos.
