Star Edwards has arranged this traditional Cornish song, I Love My Love, in the key of G. This tune is also known by the title, The Maid In Bedlam. This song is about a woman whose lover is sent out to sea. She goes mad due to their parting and is put in a place for the sick called Bedlam, where she is bound in chains, but continues to sing, “I love my love because I know, my love loves me....” When he returns from the sea, he comes to rescue her. It can be played for all different types of Celtic events calling for traditional songs and is best suited for advanced beginner harp players.
