Robin Adair (Digital Sheet Music)
A lovely Scots-Irish air from the 14th century, Lady Caroline Keppel (1700’s) wrote the lyrics as an homage to her husband (Robert “Robin Adair), whom she married despite her family’s protests. The elegant arrangement includes 3 verses with variations. The lovely, slow melody features a recurring bar of dotted Scottish snap rhythm. The left hand plays simple chords for the first verse and becomes more complex, with arpeggio patterns, harmony lines and octave bass lines on the 2nd and 3rd verses.
