This beautiful air has a long history and is popular in the current Scottish folk scene. The arrangement to this haunting minor key melody includes two verses with variations. The right hand plays various dotted rhythms and ornaments and has a recurring D# accidental, which can be pre-set for lever harps with no lever changes necessary. The left hand plays open chords and harmony lines, and some expanded arpeggio patterns on the 2nd verse. It sounds best played slowly and expressively.
