Robert Burn’s well-known poem was set to the air “The Caledonian Hunt’s delight.” A song of faithless love, he wrote several versions of the poem and later, the melody was used as a hymn with new lyrics.  The arrangement of this beautiful song has 3 verses with variations. The melody features Scottish dotted rhythms and snaps and moves to the higher register on the last verse, with some octave chords in the melody. The left hand plays open chords on the first first and a triplet arpeggio patterns with inversions and some wider interval chord on the last two verses.
