A popular old air that has many variants and titles (“The Gypsie Laddie”, “The Raggle Taggle Gypsy” etc..). Johnny Faa was a Gypsy outlaw in 17th century Scotland. The arrangement has a courtly feel, with descending harmony lines and countermelodies in the left hand. It includes a few ornaments in the right hand and muffling in the left hand. The second verse moves up to the higher register for the first part, with octave chords in both hands.
