RALPH PAULSEN-BAHNSEN
Ralph Paulsen-Bahnsen, was born on July 20, 1954, in Hamburg-St. Georg studied composition and guitar in Hamburg with Prof. Dr. Werner Krutzfeldt (composition) and Prof. Bernard Hebb (guitar). His compositional work to date has focused on works for plucked string orchestras, guitar ensembles, electric guitars, orchestras, choirs, and compositions for mandolin and recorder. Special mention should be made of "Concertino Veneziano" for soprano recorder and plucked orchestra, "Capriccio microna" and "Rush Hour" for guitar ensemble, "Piezas ritmicas 1+2" for mandolin solo (Joachim-Trekel-Musikverlag, Hamburg), " Norderstedter Tanze" for mixed ensemble (Eres Edition, Bremen), "Stompin' Maggie 69" and "Spoozer" for plucked string orchestra (peermusic Hamburg), as well as "Pop Music for Recorder" with playback (Moeck Musikverlag, Celle). Ralph Paulsen-Bahnsen has also published numerous very successful works as an arranger, including "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Sing 'n' Swing with ABBA" for mixed choir, as well as "My Way" and "Scarborough Fair" for male choir. Ralph Paulsen-Bahnsen played for many years as a studio guitarist and in the very successful guitar trio "The First Classical Guitar Express" (with Katharina Hempel and Franz Peter Perschmann), also in the formation "Deux Visages" (with the French singer Nathalie Mouillot). In addition to his vocation as a composer and arranger, Ralph Paulsen-Bahnsen is currently also a music teacher and, as a full-time teacher, teaches composition/music theory, guitar, and mandolin at the music school in Norderstedt.
