PAUL MANSELL
Paul Mansell is a professional ukulele player from Northampton, England. He began studying classical guitar at the age of 15 reaching grade 8. In 2014 Paul began his ukulele journey and by 2015 he was one of the first players in England to gain an Honours Diploma (AVCM) on the ukulele from the Victoria College of Music, scoring 95% in his performance exam. Paul is a regular at most of the big ukulele festivals, both performing and running workshops. When not performing or writing, Paul is in high demand as a ukulele teacher.
Paul was the first ukulele player to ever be featured on the cover of BMG (Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar) Magazine, in their 118-year history. As a songwriter Paul has released records through Firestation Records and his songs have been played on BBC Radio 1. Paul has written four ukulele books, with three being published by Kevin Mayhew, Ltd. - Classical Uke, Ukulele School and 2Kulele (a book of ukulele duets written with Tony Mizen). His debut album, Me, My Ukulele and I was released in 2017. All of the pieces from Paul's debut book Classical Uke and his latest book Modern Pieces for Ukulele feature in the syllabus for the "VCM Ukulele Exams."
