STEVE KAHN
Steve Kahn has had a varied life in music, from taking up guitar and bass guitar in high school and playing in rock and jazz groups, to pursuing cello study and playing in chamber music groups such as trios and quartets, to obtaining a composition degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and thence to beginning a new career as a classical and opera singer in the San Francisco Bay Area (singing roles with such companies as Pocket Opera, Cinnabar Theater, and Verismo Opera; more information is available at stevekmusic.net). He started playing banjo during the last of these phases-in late 2019, to be exact-and soon after starting to explore clawhammer style in mid-2020 developed the "pawhammer" technical extension described in the present book.
