JANET FARRAR-ROYCE
JANET FARRAR-ROYCE's professional career includes being a professional symphony violist and violin fiddler as well as a general and string instrumental music teacher. She was a member of the American String Teachers Association's first National Alternative Styles committee and is a member of the Yamaha Alternative Styles Teachers' Advisory Board. She has three successful fiddling books on the market, along with several string ensemble arrangements. Janet has performed and taught at fiddle festivals and camps throughout America. She has guest- conducted numerous school-wide, youth, and festival string orchestras and has presented in-services, residencies, and workshops for students and teachers across the country. Janet has also taught graduate courses nationwide, including at Arizona State University, the University of Pennsylvania, and all the Connecticut State universities. She also taught at Yale University during the six years that a music education degree was being offered.
