CARL HEINE
Carl Heine, ASCAP, is the Music Director and Organist at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Oak Park, Illinois. He received his musical education at the University of Washington, studying choral conducting under Rodney Eichenberger. In addition to music, he earned graduate degrees in education and creativity from Wheaton College and the University of Chicago. He recently retired from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, where he directed state-wide programs for youth in innovation and entrepreneurship. Heine's musical career spans five decades and four states: Washington, Minnesota, California, and Illinois. Published works include sacred music for choirs, organ, and instruments, including a book published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc. entitled Early American Melodies for Flute. When not writing and performing, he enjoys traveling, woodworking, gardening, and playing with his grandchildren.
