RICK ROSSANO
Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida by way of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Rick Rossano is an amazing guitarist and instructor of diverse interests and styles, able to shift effortlessly from jump blues, surf and country to rockabilly, jazz and punk. But his primary forte is roots-style guitar.
"I don't care so much for labels," Rick offers. "To me, there are a lot more similarities than differences between blues and rockabilly and country or surf or whatever. I just like to draw from it all, play loud, and have fun!"
Rick was named one of the Top Ten Unknown Guitarists in the USA by Guitar One Magazine. By no surprise upon hearing Rick, fellow monster guitarist Steve Vai agreed, calling Rick "A master of roots guitar". Mr. Vai subsequently signed Rick and his band, The Dillengers, to his record label Favored Nations, distributing The Dillengers' album "Instro-Mania" globally.
Rick has done session work up and down the East Coast, has an instructional book and play-along audio published by Mel Bay called "Roots-Style Rhythm Tracks", and teaches via seminars and private lessons.
Rick gigs with South Florida blues/punk legend, Charlie Pickett, Grammy winning boogie-woogie pianist and singer, Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88s Band, R&B monsters-The Shakers, South Florida's Beatles tribute, Across the Universe, and has shared stages with The Beach Boys, The Sonics, Dick Dale, Little Richard, Link Wray, Los Straitjackets, NRBQ, Marshall Crenshaw, Wilson Pickett, Jaco Pastorius, Dion DiMucci, The Band, Johnny Winter, Three Dog Night, The Turtles, The Chicks, and many other rock and roll, soul and R&B luminaries.
