            After graduating from North 'Texas State University in 1967  with a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz performance and  composition, Tom Bruner served on the arranging staff of  the United States Air Force Academy Band (1967 to 1971).  In late 1971, he moved to Los Angeles where he began to  make his living as a studio musician, performing on the  following productions: Hawaii Five-O, The Merv Griffin  Show, Police Story, Police Woman, Shaft, Matt Helm, The  Wonderful World of Disney, Medical Center, The Mary Tyler  Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show,  Movin' On, Cannon,   Gunsmoke,  Barnaby Jones, The Streets of San Francisco,  and The F.B.I.  In 1975, Tom formed his own production  company to compose and arrange music for television and  radio commercials. For the next four years, he composed,  arranged, and produced over 150 music tracks for  commercials for various clients such as  Coca-Cola   Sumitomo Bank  Carnation Buick Hughes Supermarkets   Playgirl Magazine Los Alamitos Race Track  State Mutual  Savings  Pup & Taco KFI Radio KCOP 'Television Miller  Beer Brittania Sportswear McDonnell Douglas Corp.  Lowenbrau Beer Sanyo  Pizza Hut Zacky Farms L.A. Civic  Light Opera Gulf Oil Mattel Toys  Avocado Growe1  Kenwood Stereo U.S. Forest Service Frontier Hotel  Dunes  Hotel International House of Pancakes  Tom's primary role  in the music business from the late 1970s thru 1987 is one  of musical director for television variety shows.
