NUCLEO VEGA
Nucleo Vega graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park. Nucleo received the First Year Secondary School Educator Award for Howard County Maryland 2004. He is currently a middle school band director, worship and arts director, and professional drummer in the Baltimore-D.C. metro, as well as Seattle, Washington. Nucleo's concepts are inspired from world re-known drummer and teacher Mike Shepherd (Manyard Ferguson, Navy Commodores; instructor of Hilary Jones-Tribal Tech). His drum set system is derived from the superior syllabic system of North and South Indian tabla drumming as well as the time-tested educational research conducted by Edwin Gordon, Jaques-Dalcroze, and Carl Orff. Nucleo's book/audio/video "Understanding Groove" bridges the gap between physical and auditory awareness. His unique syllable system allows him to fully control his feel, beat placement, tone, speed perception, and attack. Nucleo Vega's drumming is an exciting cross between Jeff "Tain" Watts, Dennis Chambers, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Ignacio Berroa. Nucleo performs with Washington D.C.'s rock group Forget Reason and pop-fusion group, Fourthman, as well as Seattle's world new-age group Harp46.
