            Andrew Shepard-Smith, classical guitarist, is currently on  staff at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana.  He has  studied lute and guitar privately and in masterclasses with  Renato Butturi, Clare   Callahan, Eduardo Fernandez, Oscar  Ghiglia, Michael Howell, Franco Platino, Paul Reilly, and  Benjamin Verdery, among others.  A scholar of early music,  Shepard-Smith enjoys spending his time researching rather  than practicing, transcribing rather than concertizing.  His  collections of transcription anthologies include composers  such as Thomas Mace, Girolamo Frescobaldi, and the  Spanish vihuelists.  In addition, he is currently transcribing  and editing the complete piano works of Enrique Granados  for solo guitar.  He resides in Vincennes, Indiana with his  wife Vanessa and daughter Emily.
