Michaela Anne Neller is a songwriter, guitarist and singer raised within the military family life, traveling the US and abroad but now residing in Brooklyn, NY. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Vocal Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. When she is not on tour she is teaching voice, piano, guitar and song writing. Her songwriting has been awarded with finalist positions in the prestigious songwriting competitions Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk as well as Telluride Bluegrass Festival's Troubadour Contest. She performed at both festivals and received a top 5 position at Telluride. Her songs are also featured in award-winning web series Big Country Blues. Michaela's debut album, To Know Where, was self-released on April 5th, 2011. To Know Where is a compilation of original songs inspired by her upbringing as a nomadic child of the U.S. Military. The Record describes it as "Nine songs with uncommon clarity, vision and execution for someone just beginning her career....This is an album that never overstays it's welcome" and Common Folk Music describes the collection as "soul-searching songs that have a way of touching the spirit....emotional and angelic vocal delivery".
