VINCE COROZINE
Vince Corozine grew up in New York and was Associate Professor of Music for 25 years at two universities in New York and in North Carolina. He studied musical composition with Bernard Wagenaar of the Juilliard School of Music, with jazz composer Jimmy Giuffre, and film scoring with Don Sebesky. Vince was the music arranger for the Jazz Knights at West Point for ten years, music director for the annual Thanksgiving Parade in Philadelphia, also for ten years, and has conducted members of the Toronto Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Philly Pops in recording sessions.
He is the author of Arranging Music for the Real World and Jazzin' the Blues published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc. Presently, he teaches a dozen music composition and arranging courses online including: Music Theory I, II, III; Jazz Theory, Songwriting, Music Composition, Orchestration, Counterpoint, Jazz Arranging I (small groups) and Jazz Arranging II (large ensembles), and Choral Arranging.
As music director of the Norm Hathaway Big Band in New York, he has made appearances at the Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway in New York City and a special appearance on Saturday Night Live. Vince was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2013.
