GRAHAM HEARN
Graham Hearn studied at Trinity College of Music, London, obtaining an external B.Mus from Durham University and at the University of York, gaining a D.Phil in composition, the fi rst person in the United Kingdom to do so. Since the 1970s he has pursued a busy dual career as lecturer at Leeds College of Music, Britain's largest music conservatory, and freelance jazz pianist/arranger/ composer. In his educational work he specialises in twentieth century music history and jazz composition and conducting the New Music Ensemble. He lives in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England, from where he can indulge his passions for walking, photography and bird-watching.
